Expert Engineering Analysts For The Oil & Gas Industry
TriVista provide expert engineering analysis services for the Oil & Gas industry
The recent large decrease in the oil price has significantly changed the challenges faced by the oil and gas industry. Global demand for oil and gas resources has driven greater production from hydrocarbon fields that have increasingly become deeper and more remote. Advanced technology is required to reach these resources and also optimise production efficiency to cope with a lower oil price. Additionally the production and refining sectors of the industry face stricter demands with regards to: environmental impact, reliability, reducing costs and improving safety.
Modern computational engineering analysis tools now play a much greater part in the design and development of technology in all areas of the industry such as: drilling, production, transport and processing. Engineering simulation tools are now also being used at earlier stages in the technology development process to reduce the cost of later modifications.
Over the years, TriVista has performed a wide range of project analyses on: deep subsea systems, offshore equipment, production systems and on processing plants. Our engineering team routinely work with clients in providing realistic solutions of genuine commercial interest.
Typical Finite Element (FE) analyses projects previously performed are as follows: Linear and non-linear stress analyses; pressure vessel code standards assessment (ASME VIII Div II, API, PD 5500, BS EN 13445); Dynamic FE analyses (Shock spectrum, time history & PSD loading) and transient thermal analyses evaluating cool down times for subsea production systems. Fatigue analysis was very important in this field to ensure reliability of the equipment. BS 7608 is an industry standard being used regularly to evaluate the integrity of the offshore steel structures.
Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) analysis projects have evaluated: flow pressure drop and distributions; multiphase flows, free surface flows; gas dispersion and wind loading. Advanced analyses have also been performed involving coupling FE and CFD analysis codes for fluid-structural interaction (FSI) and flow induced vibration (FIV) plus fatigue studies.
