Ansys Inc. announced the release of Version 18.1 of their engineering analysis software suite on 16 May 2017 enabling engineers to create next-generation products quicker and easier. Mark Hindsbo, ANSYS general manager. “This latest release continues the tradition of having the most complete and accurate solution portfolio in the industry, so our customers can trust the simulation results to conquer the toughest design challenges and accelerate product innovation.”
A few of the highlights of the new release include:
Fluids simulation suite: ANSYS 18.1 delivers large-scale fluid simulations results faster and more accurately. Improvements have been made with more flexibility in setting up periodic boundaries to deliver high fidelity results faster. The size of turbomachinery problems and solution convergence times can be reduced when applying complex vibrational modes from a cyclic modal analysis to CFX flutter analyses.
Structural analysis suite: ANSYS 18.1 provides added ease of use and workflow enhancements for optimized structural designs. New topology optimization technology capabilities have been added for analysing both complex materials and optimising designs. Load cases from modal and static structural analysis can be combined to evaluate designs meeting frequency and structural requirements. New optimization constraint capabilities have been added providing the designer with more control over manufacturing constraints to assist in achieving the most optimized designs.
