The annual UK Ansys Innovation Conference was held on 2-3 May 2018 at the UK Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry.
ANSYS Inc presented their latest advanced engineering simulation strategy; new product release details; emerging capabilities in the CAE industry; comprehensive details of both Structural (Mechanical) product suite enhancements and fluids (CFD) product suite improvements at release 19. Various product parallel sessions were run with industry-speakers also presenting projects demonstrating their experiences in using ANSYS simulation products.
Both Mr Xuefeng Wu and Gary McDonald from TriVista Engineering attended the event. The keynote speaker at the event was Dr Kristan Bromley of Bromley Technologies who gave an interesting talk on the application of simulation in reducing aerodynamic drag that gave Britain medal winning success in the skeleton at this year’s winter Olympics. It was a good opportunity to learn more regarding the newest features available in the ANSYS latest software release, see opportunities for emerging technology trends such as digital twin applications and to see first-hand new software products being demonstrated such as Ansys Discovery.
